The Essential Rumi

    The Essential Rumi is an English translation book from the magnificent collection of Rumi; Mesnevi. An American poet; Coleman Barks, working with John Moyne and J. Aberry gives the poet lovers this translation as an awesome gift. I'm going to say nothing about Rumi; words aren't enough to express him. A real beauty he is. I am just going to write down a poet of his. This book is so precious and stirs the hearts of Rumi devotees and win a lot of new converts. :)

I am a tree with a trained parrot in its branches.

Silence, thought, and voice.

The musical air coming through a flute,

a spark of a stone, a flickering

in metal. Both candle,

and the moth crazy around it.

Rose, and the nightingale

lost in the fragrance.

I am all orders of being, the circling galaxy,

the evolutionary intelligence, the lift,

and the falling away. What is,

and what isn’t. You who know
